About the association

The Association liaises directly with the Port of Felixstowe, HM Revenue & Customs, UK Border Agency, Suffolk Coastal Port Health Authority, and other official bodies to secure the Port’s best possible conditions. And in doing so contributes to the continued success of the Port.

Annually members are invited to three meetings, where Category Representatives report on their activities on behalf of the membership.  These meetings are also an opportunity to voice concerns and seek assistance relating to port matters.  We also have a presentation at these meetings on a relevant topic; these could be presented by HMRC, New Funding initiatives, etc.

The FPUA continues to work with the Port on matters of fee levies and VBS/CBS booking availability and is instrumental in the setting up the regular Haulier Forum meetings that provide further valuable liaison.

We also hold a Charity Christmas Ball on the first Friday of December where we raise money for a local charity nominated by the committee.

In 2019 we held our first Charity Golf Day at the Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club, which is hoped will become an annual event. Not only to raise money for local charities but also to allow the Port Users to network with other business sectors within the town.
