A14 junction 50, Stowmarket to junction 52, Claydon in both directions: resurfacing

We are pleased to confirm the current works taking place at the above location on the A14 are on schedule and running smoothly. We are contacting you again to keep you informed and provide an update to our works programme.
As part of our phase one works on the eastbound carriageway, from Monday 8 to Friday 19 June, we will be implementing a full road closure between junction 43 and junction 51, including all exit and entry slip roads. This will allow us to deliver additional maintenance work whilst the strategic diversion route is in place. Please note the westbound carriageway will remain open between these junctions.

During this two-week period, we will be resurfacing the eastbound entry slip roads at junction 43 and junction 44 and renewing road markings and reflective studs from junction 47 to junction 50, as well as continuing our resurfacing works between junction 50 and junction 51.

Diversion route

The closure point will be located at junction 43, Bury St Edmunds. Traffic will be diverted via the A143 and A140 to re-join the A14 at junction 51. Traffic wishing to access the eastbound carriageway between junction 44 and junction 50 will be diverted to junction 43 via the westbound carriageway to join the strategic diversion route, a map is attached overleaf.
Please be assured all our sites have strict safeguarding measures to prevent the spread of COVID19 and none of our sites are open to the public. We will be carrying out all works following safety guidelines set by the Government.
Please circulate this letter within your parishes and via social media outlets so residents are aware of the planned works.
