Highways England - A14 junction 58, Seven Hills to junction 62, Felixstowe in both directions: resurfacing

Posted 5 August 2020

Please see below letter from Highways England:

I write to inform you that we will be carrying out essential resurfacing works at the above location. As part of this work we will also be carrying out other essential maintenance works such as repairing safety barriers, carrying out drainage repairs, replacing road signs, renewing faded line markings and road studs.

We plan to complete this work over 24 weeks starting 10 August. Our working hours are between 8pm and 4am on weeknights only, subject to weather conditions. We have been working closely with The Port of Felixstowe to adjust the times of our road closures according to peak traffic travelling to and from the port.

Due to the extensive amount of work being carried out, this scheme has been split into 9 phases which is outlined in the table attached. This table contains information of where our works will be taking pace, planned dates for these works and diversion routes.

We have closely liaised with county councillors and Suffolk Highways about our works as well as gaining approval for the most suitable diversion routes for each phase of works.

If you wish to keep up to date with our works programme and see diversion maps for each phase, please look on our Highways England website using this address: https://highwaysengland.co.uk/projects/a14-junction-58-to-junction-62-resurfacing-works-in-both-directions. We will continue to provide updates via the website throughout the duration of these works.

If you wish to be included on our e-mail distribution list of detailed planned roadworks across the East Region, which will provide regular updates about this work, then please contact our East Capital Delivery Team e-mail via OPSEastCapitalDeliveryTeam@highwaysengland.co.uk detailing your consent to be added to this distribution list.

Please be assured all our sites have strict safeguarding measures to prevent the spread of COVID19 and none of our sites are open to the public. We will be carrying out all works following safety guidelines set by the Government.
