The Felixstowe Port Users' Association is a pro-active, independent body for companies who conduct a locally based business activity through, or in, the Port of Felixstowe. It was established in 1969 so that companies within the rapidly expanding Port of Felixstowe could work together as a cohesive body, rather than as separate entities.
It currently has some 145 members, encompassing the wide variety of companies operating in and through the Port, from shipping lines, forwarders and hauliers to ship repairers, solicitors and computer companies. The objectives of the FPUA are:
to act as an association for locally based firms and companies operating through or in the Port of Felixstowe
to represent the common interests of its members to protect and promote their interests and to secure the best possible conditions for them
to liaise with the Port Authority and other Government bodies, such as HM Revenue & Customs and Port Health
to resolve problems of a localised nature quickly and efficiently
to promote the Port, both nationally and internationally
